Philanthropy
The national philanthropy of Zeta Tau Alpha is breast cancer awareness. Each year Zeta Tau Alpha collegians and alumni throughout United States participate in area events to promote breast cancer awareness.
In Fort Worth, Zeta supports the Susan G. Komen for the Cure – Tarrant County through participation and help in staging the annual “Race for the Cure.” In addition, ZTA presents an annual pink ribbon luncheon which celebrates the group’s success with the race and further promotes breast cancer awareness in the North Texas community. Because of our success at the luncheon, we have been able to raise and donate more than $125,000 to the ZTA Foundation. That puts us as the top giving alumnae chapter in the country over the past biennium.
We are pleased to raise funds in support of Susan G Komen for the Cure which conducts major research in the fight against breast cancer and for the Patsy Ellis Roach Memorial Scholarship. The fund was established to honor a breast cancer survivor whose valiant battle was cut short by an act of violence.
